Introduction

The UK standard is 0.70 of the score i.e. a unit or a Surgeon must perform 30% better than the crude score. The North West standard is 0.51 i.e. units or Surgeons must perform 49% better. To our knowledge the MRI is the first Cardiac Surgical unit to publish individual named Surgeons mortality figures.
