As the Lead Nurse of the Heart Centre, I am responsible for developing nursing within the Directorate, working in conjuncton with the Director of Nursing and the Directorate Manager.

My role is to ensure that the Educational aspect of the Clinical Governance Agenda, is delivered within the Manchester Heart Centre, to enable us to deliver the highest standards of care to the Cardiac Patient. Although, I don't actively teach the nursing staff, I facilitate and organise courses for the multidisciplinary team. I also consider it my responsibility to provide funding and study leave to enable all grades of staff to be developed professionally. Having worked in The Trust for 29 years, I have acquired a vast amount of experience in The Heart Centre,which has taught me to view issues objectively. I am committed totally to the Heart Centre and feel that I am approachable enough to be able to influence change and encourage those who may have any doubts.
